Privacy policy
What we collect when you ask for a quote, why we collect it, who else ever sees it, and how to make us delete it.
Effective August 19, 2026. This policy covers zerograinwater.com and the quote requests sent through it.
The short version. We collect what you type into the quote form, plus ordinary web traffic data. We use it to come and test your water and to quote the job. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to lead brokers. Email support@zerograinwater.com and we will delete it.
Who we are
ZeroGrain Water LLC, trading as ZeroGrain Water, a Wisconsin company. We sell, install and service residential water treatment equipment across southeastern Wisconsin. We are the party responsible for the information described here. Reach us at support@zerograinwater.com.
What we collect
What you hand us
Whatever you type into the quote form: your first and last name, phone number, email address, the town you are in, whether you are on city water or a private well, and any note you add. Every one of those fields is there because the visit needs it. Nothing on that form is collected for a purpose other than getting a person to your kitchen table with the right equipment on the van.
What your browser hands us
Ordinary technical information that every web server receives: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you looked at and when, and the page that referred you. It is used to serve the site, keep it working, and understand which pages people actually read.
Where you came from
If you arrive from an advertisement, a search result or an email, the campaign
parameters on that link are read and held in your browser for the length of your visit,
then attached to a quote request if you send one. Those are the utm_source
family and the click identifiers advertising platforms append, such as
gclid, fbclid and ttclid. They tell us which
advertising is worth paying for. They do not tell anyone else who you are.
What our host collects
This site is hosted on WordPress.com, operated by Automattic Inc. Automattic runs its own traffic statistics and sets its own cookies to do it, independently of anything we configure. That processing is governed by Automattic’s privacy policy as well as this one. We see the resulting statistics in aggregate.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about the quote you asked for.
- To send the right person to the right address at the right time, with equipment sized from what you told us.
- To keep a record of what was quoted and what was agreed.
- To understand which pages and which advertising bring us real enquiries.
That is the entire list. We do not build profiles, and we do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Not to other contractors, not to lead brokers, not to anyone, for money or for anything else.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. Asking for a price is not subscribing to anything.
- We do not collect payment details on this website. There is nothing to buy here.
- We measure how the site and our advertising perform, but we never sell or share your personal information with advertisers.
Cookies and similar technology
We use Google Tag Manager to load our measurement tools, and those tools set their own cookies to understand how the site is used. The campaign parameters described above are held in your browser’s session storage, not in a cookie, and they are gone when you close the tab.
Our host, Automattic, sets cookies for its own traffic statistics and for the operation of the platform, and WordPress sets a cookie if you ever log in to the site. Blocking cookies in your browser will not stop you reading anything here or sending a quote request.
Who else ever sees it
A short list, and each of these only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Automattic Inc., which hosts this site and delivers the quote form to our inbox.
- Google, which provides Tag Manager and the analytics that tell us how the site is used.
- Our email provider, which carries the message.
- The licensed Wisconsin plumbing contractor doing your installation, who receives the address and scheduling detail needed to do the work.
Beyond that, we disclose information only where the law requires it, or where you ask us to.
Calls, texts and email
The quote form asks you to agree that we may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text, say so on any call, or email support@zerograinwater.com, and we stop. We contact you about your own enquiry, not about anything else.
Your mobile number and your text consent stay here. No mobile information, and no consent you give to be texted, is ever shared with, sold to, or rented to a third party or an affiliate for their marketing or promotional use. Nothing about the text messages you agree to receive is passed on for anybody else to use. The only parties who ever touch your number are the providers listed above who are needed to deliver our own message to you, and they may not use it for anything else.
Text messages from us are about the quote you asked for: confirming the water test, sending the quote, following up on it, and now and then an offer on equipment. Message frequency varies with your job. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for as long as we need them for the job and for our ordinary business records. Where a contract was signed, the record is kept for as long as the law and the warranty require. Everything else we will delete on request.
Your choices
Email support@zerograinwater.com and you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete it, except where a record has to be kept for a contract already signed;
- stop contacting you.
We will not charge you for any of that and we will not make you create an account to ask. If you are a California resident, note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA, so there is no opt-out to exercise.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging work on a home. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and quote requests travel encrypted from your browser to our host. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we do not keep what we do not need, and that the people who see your details are the ones doing the work.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or what we do with it changes, this page changes and the effective date at the top moves. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
